2018 goalsIf you have been following along over the years then you know that the year end brings us to another THREE part goal setting SERIES.  In this post I will review my wins for 2018 as well as the areas I fell short.  Stay tuned for part two and three, where I will review my goal setting process, and offer a FREE workbook for download.  The third post where I will share my 2019 goals and #2019Feels.

In 2018 I want to continue eliminating drama from my life, while cultivating a calm, balanced and connected life.  Focusing on being present and savoring each and every moment of this miracle of life, even the hard moments.  I wanted to get clear about who I am, what makes me feel the most alive.   To change my story and rid myself of self-limiting beliefs.

I hope you follow along and we can work together to make 2019 OUR best year yet!

SO HOW HAVE I BEEN DOING

It was hard to imagine another year full of as much love and excitement as the last two, but we did it again!

This was another big year in our household- our oldest graduated high school a triple threat, and received a scholarship, making for lots of proud parents. This summer we jetted off to Europe to broaden our horizons with a 4.5 week family vacation that included 3 countries, 6 cities, and a few heat waves. If that wasn’t enough we were able to enjoy a wonderful fall getaway to the Sunshine Coast, full of lots of family bonding and laughter.

 2018 Goal RecapFITNESS GOALS

  1. Calm and balanced – I will incorporate yoga or swimming into my routine 1-2 times a week. Hit the gym for 4-5 one hour workouts a week with one minimum of one long run per week. Partial SUCCESS!  I didn’t get to swimming or yoga, but kept up my weight training and running throughout the year.
  2. Healthy and Strong– Run the BMO half marathon in  under 2 hours.  Partial SUCCESS!  Although I didn’t reach my PB , I completed it in 2 hours and 3 minutes.  Plus I had the incredible honour or receiving my medal from John Stanton himself.
  3. Bold and Challenged –I will hike the Chief by year end. I FELL SHORT. Mainly due to our lengthy summer vacation and the graduation activities beforehand. But it must be said we hiked a 10km portion of the Cinque Terre
this summer in 40 degree heat.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

  1. Confident and Self Aware- I will spend the first half of 2018 identifying self-limiting beliefs through personal development and exploration exercises. SUCCESS, I read over 6 personal development books you  can read about some of my favorites here.
  2. PRESENT- I will continue to practice #PositiveAffirmations and #IntentionSetting daily and weekly. I have developed twelve new affirmations and nine new intentions that work with my overall goals. SUCCESS
  3. Optimistic-I will focus on solutions and opportunities rather than problems. I will surround myself with positive reminders.  Work in progress but much better than the beginning of the year. Thanks to that self-awarness work I have been doing.

FUN GOALS

  1. Vibrant and Connected – Minimum one #FamilyFunActivity a month. SUCCESS
  2. Adventurous and Inspired –Our four week family vacation to Europe this summer will help satisfy these feels. #MeiersDoEurope2018 SUCCESS
  3. Love & Connection– Minimum 1 date night a month. New to 2018 we will host six dinner parties in 2018 to ensure we connect with old friends, and develop new friendships. #DateNight #Friendsgiving FELL SHORT, I was able to spend more time with friends throughout the year, and hosted a large Canada day party, however I didn’t host the intended dinner parties regularly. However we did manage date nights in Basel, Rome, and Zurich. 🙂

BUSINESS GOALS

  1. Accomplished– I will post two blogs a month for 12 months.  Increase my website traffic by 50%, increase my readership by 20%, and my social media reach by 10%.  HUGE SUCCESS!  I had the incredible honor of being nominated as on to the #VMTOP30 blogger this spring, and finished a 3rd place finalist.  I was featured on the front page of the local paper.   And if all of that wasn’t enough I was also featured as a Mom to follow at Vancouvermom.ca.   My website traffic increased by over 100%, my readership tripled, and my social media reach increased by 41% on Facebook and 31% on Instagram.
  1. Energized and Creative- I will release monthly newsletters for subscribers, develop an accountability program for 2019, and work on my writing with the project #BrithOfVenus.  Partial SUCCESS, I discontinued the newsletter after minimal engagement, for the effort I put into it.  I worked on my writing project through the early summer months but stalled through the fall.

FINANCIAL GOALS
